If you are hosting Thanksgiving dinner, by this time your menu should be set, the grocery store hustle is behind you and  friends and family are arriving! 

You are all set for the big day, but is your table?  Have you thought about your tablescape -table cloth and napkins, place settings, glasses, serving pieces? Dust off your china, put a polish on the silver, iron the linens. And, what about the centerpiece? Have you had time to give it a minutes thought?   It seems we always leave that for last, but it doesn’t have to look that way. This is your  chance to dig deep and find your inner creative spirit. If you’re like me, my creative bubbles to the top when the pressure is on. Don’t worry about constructing a floral arrangement masterpiece . Sometimes, the less planning you do, the better the results. The key is to make it look effortless. Bring in the wow  by mixing  your traditional  place settings with with the unexpected. And , while you’re at it, remember, rules are meant to be broken. Your ‘centerpiece’ doesn’t have to be in the center. Run the length of the table with a simple arrangement of branches, gourds and candles and weave them in and around the platters and side dishes. Using your beloved wedding gifts of china, crystal and silver together with autumn foliage and gourds, your tablescape suddenly becomes the focal point and can break an awkward silence and start the conversation rolling, that is until the turkey arrives. All your efforts have finally come together and truly set the stage for the most anticipated meal and the lively conversation ahead.
