04 Nov Urban Town Home
Objective
To renovate a contemporary bachelor’s living space into an elegant home. Originally designed for a professional with very contemporary sensibilities, the home needed an interior style transformation to reflect the traditional feel of the townhouse.
Solution
Lorraine began by removing everything that wasn’t permanently attached, enhancing trim and moldings, adding wood floors and updating light fixtures. She chose traditional wainscoting in the dining room to enhance the architecture of the space and had the floors refinished a rich sable brown. Bold colors were selected to compliment permanent granite and tile features while creating a fresh, unexpected palette. The home was furnished with a blend of antiques and new furnishings to complete the understated yet sophisticated home.
