Marsh View Kitchen

Objective

To transform an outdated 1980’s, non‐functioning kitchen into a highly functioning, upscale room that utilized every square inch, reflecting the client's growing family.

Solution

Planning the space was centered around two cooking enthusiasts as well as two growing boys. By dividing the room into zones and further into specific functions within those zones, LGV was able to incorporate the requests made by the client. A long interior wall, bracketed by 24” towers of refrigeration, is utilized for cooking while the perpendicular wall houses ample pantry and linen storage, a laundry room as well as a desk for organizing school and sports schedules. Three separate islands were a wish of the client, each one with a distinct function – dish washing and cleanup, snacks and drinks for the boys and family dining. New larger windows and a custom built-in window seat allows the clients and their visitors to take full advantage the picturesque marsh views.
